Talent First, in collaboration with EURES and national organizations, will participate in the HVG Job Fair in Budapest this November. Our goal is to enhance the visibility and appeal of North Savo while providing participating companies with opportunities to connect with international talent from Hungary and Central Europe.

HVG Job Fair, Budapest 6–8 November 2024
The HVG Job Fair is one of Central Europe’s largest recruitment events, attracting thousands of professionals annually to explore job opportunities. The event will take place live at the MoM Sport Center in Budapest on 6–7 November and as a virtual event from 6–8 November 2024.
The fair attracts professionals mainly from IT, technology, marketing, and finance. In the spring 2024 fair, there were around 7,000 visitors and over 70,000 virtual attendees. Based on past experience, Hungarians are interested in working and living in Finland, valuing aspects like safety, work-life balance, and proximity to nature.

Work in Finland Stand
Our delegation will host a shared Work in Finland stand, Booth C55, featuring EURES and international recruitment experts as well as representatives from municipalities, cities, and various organizations. Employers and regional representatives will present job opportunities, along with insights into Finland’s work culture, quality of life, and regional opportunities.

Talent First will conduct a digital marketing campaign around the fair, directing interested individuals to the Work in Finland stand and to the Talent First website.

One of Talent First’s key initiatives is to increase international visibility. During this project period, the aim is to participate in international events in cooperation with EURES. The HVG Job Fair is one of many efforts to raise regional awareness, highlighting North Savo as a place where quality of life is a priority.

Kuopio is a center of significant research, development, and business activity in the wellness and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in the health sector, aimed at addressing global health and wellness challenges.
At the heart of the health sector is Kuopio Health, an open innovation ecosystem. Kuopio hosts more than 5,000 health sector jobs and over 1,000 health-related companies across the region. The university campus is located near Kuopio’s city center in Savilahti by Lake Kallavesi, where three educational institutions (UEF, Savonia, Sakky) provide a campus for approximately 18,000 degree and postgraduate students.

Numerous development projects bring together public and private sector players around smart manufacturing and automation, with Upper Savo standing out as a particularly strong technology hub.
The commercialization of technologies and development activities occur in close collaboration between local companies and educational institutions. The multicampus model of Savonia University of Applied Sciences and the University of Eastern Finland fosters this cooperation, aligning R&D activities with the needs of the region’s manufacturing industry. This makes North Savo a prime location for companies specializing in technology, manufacturing, and cleantech.
Several international industrial companies operate in North Savo, including Ponsse, Normet, Profile Vehicles, Genelec, and Junttan. Savonia University of Applied Sciences, Savo Vocational College, the University of Eastern Finland, and other regional partners support the industrial ecosystem by training skilled labor and providing a range of support services for businesses.
