A new radio series, Talent Talks, is starting on Savon Aallot
The new radio series Talent Talks will start today, September 4th, 2024, at 12:30 PM on Savon Aallot. The aim of the series is to break down language barriers and promote understanding of the region’s diversity and international nature.
In the first episode, we will hear the story of entrepreneur, author, and speaker Patrick Halford. Halford will share his experiences of life in Finland and North Savo as an international professional, reflecting on topics such as cultural differences and what life is like here. The interviewer will be Anssi Saarelainen from Savon Aallot.
“We are really excited about this collaboration with Savon Aallot and look forward to the interesting content the new radio series will bring, and how it will reach regional actors and talents,” says Talent First’s project manager, Reetta Airaksinen.
The show aims to raise awareness about international talent and lower the barriers associated with using the English language. Each episode of the series offers about 15 minutes of inspiring stories and current topics, shared by regional professionals. The themes are always related in some way to internationalism, and the interviewees range from students to professionals, both Finnish and those with international backgrounds.
The episodes will air on the first Wednesday of each month at 12:30 PM. Podcast recordings of the episodes will also be available on Savon Aallot’s website.
The Talent Talks radio series is produced by Talent First (North Savo Talent Attraction Model – Impact through Collaboration project). The main goal of the project is to attract new talent to the region, enhance regional appeal, and build close collaboration between local actors.
“We have an active team of 12 partner organizations in the project, and the idea for this radio series actually came up during a traditional meeting. The project will continue for another year, and during that time we can also enjoy this new radio series. It’s great to see how well the collaboration is going, and ideas keep emerging.”
